Jarrod Whaley's "The Amaranth" Now Online
Here's Jarrod's description of his latest project:
"The Amaranth is an open-ended movie produced and presented in parts. New, sequentially numbered parts will appear from time to time. At some time in the future, the parts will be presented together as a complete movie. Each part is produced independently. They are improvised. The whole is a sort of a one-man exquisite corpse piece.
The original idea: I wanted to make an infinite movie for the internet. I wanted to broadcast a continuous video stream 24/7. I wanted to use a combination of looped video and webcam "footage" to produce a movie of indeterminate length; I wanted it to be at least a year long. I still want to do this someday. For now, I can't afford the necessary bandwidth.
The compromise: I'll just make the movie in parts instead, and post them from time to time. Kind of like a video blog. Only this is one big movie--shot, edited, and released on a part-by-part basis. We'll see what happens."

A Great Little Film from Nashville
Lazy Bear's Ryan DiGiorgi is the Associate Producer on a film called, Suburban Tumbleweed, directed by his old school chum, Seth Worley. The film, shot in a pretty Nashville neighborhood, is a funny little (33 minutes) romp focusing on zombie fighting and ghosts with low self-esteem. It recently had a succesful premiere at Nashville's Belcourt Theatre, humbly documented by the film's creator on his blog.
The Nashville Scene's Jim Ridley had this to say in a preview of the film:
SUBURBAN TUMBLEWEED: Twelve-year-old Ben Worley plays Noah Vanisher, a preteen superhero in a world of ghosts, bullies and flying saucers, in this 33-minute short shot in Franklin last fall by his brother Seth Worley. Tyler Torti, Darren Vandergriff, Jeff Venable, Dane Hale and Patrick Hunter co-star. I've been hearing good things about this; I'm glad to see it's showing twice Thursday at the Belcourt, at 5 and 6 p.m., with the filmmakers in attendance. See the trailer at NoiseboxMedia.com.
